This white chocolate peanut butter bark is a sweet, fun treat that any nut butter lover will enjoy! It's super easy to make and is perfect for kids to help with.

If you have never made bark before, let this be the first recipe that you try! It's one of the BEST chocolate bark recipes I've made for the blog so far and it's so simple to make. It has 2 main ingredients and you can customise it by adding your favourite toppings. It's a fun edible gift that's ideal for peanut butter lovers.

If you want to skip straight to the recipe card, you can find it at the end of this post. For ingredient notes, top tips, and more, just keep on reading. Enjoy!

    Ingredients

    • White chocolate: Use your favourite kind of chocolate. Most types will work! I'd recommend using chocolate bars as they melt a lot better than chocolate chips.
    • Peanut butter: I used Whole Earth peanut butter drizzler. If you're using peanut butter from a jar, I'd recommend using the natural, runny type because it's much easier to drizzle over the melted chocolate. If yours is a little stiff, you can pop it in the microwave for 10-15 seconds to loosen it.
    • Sprinkles or other cake decorations: These are optional but they make the bark look a little more fancy! I used white chocolate stars but I've included some other topping ideas for you further on in the post.

    Equipment

    • Baking tray and baking paper: If you want your bark to hold its shape and be on the thicker side, use an 8x8-inch tin. Otherwise, you can use a flat baking tray but note that it will spread out a little more and therefore be thinner.
    • Bowl or saucepan: To melt the chocolate in. If you're using a bowl in the microwave, make sure it's heatproof. You'll also need to take it out and stir the chocolate every 30 seconds or so, which will stop it from seizing or burning. If you're using a saucepan, keep the heat low and stir gently.
    • Utensils: You'll need one or two tablespoons for making the bark and a sharp knife to cut it once it's set.
    • Toothpick: To combine the white chocolate and peanut butter in a marbled pattern.

How to make white chocolate peanut butter bark

Step 1: First, start by lining an 8x8-inch tin or a baking tray with baking paper. Set aside for now.

Step 2: Next, break 300g of white chocolate into segments. Melt it in the microwave or over the stove, stirring gently and often until there are no lumps of chocolate left.

Step 3: Spread the chocolate into your tin or if you're using a baking tray, spread it out in a small rectangle shape.

Step 4: Drizzle 2-3 tablespoons of peanut butter on top of the melted white chocolate in lines. Then drag a toothpick through it to combine it with the white chocolate, creating a marbled pattern.

Step 5: Top with sprinkles or any other topping that you like.

Step 6: Leave your chocolate bark to set. You can put it in the fridge if you're pressed for time but it will set shinier if you leave it out at room temperature.

Step 7: Once the bark is set, break it up with your hands or cut it into pieces and enjoy!

    Tips for making bark

    • Melt your chocolate slowly to prevent burning or seizing. White chocolate especially can be quite finicky to work with! If you're melting it in the microwave, make sure to take it out and give it a stir every 20-30 seconds. If you're using a saucepan over the stove, keep the heat low and stir gently.
    • The peanut butter will 'set' into the white chocolate so the marble pattern won't be as obvious once it's dry. Keep this in mind when choosing your bark decorations. (It'll still be full of peanut flavour though so don't worry!)
    • Pop your bark pieces into small cellophane bags to make a cute edible gift.

    Other topping ideas

If you fancy topping your bark with something other than cake sprinkles, try one of the following:

    • Reese's peanut butter chips (or mini peanut butter cup pieces!)
    • Regular chocolate chips
    • Mini marshmallows
    • Chopped peanuts

    FAQ

Can I use crunchy peanut butter?

Yes. It'll change the texture of your bark slightly but if you like it crunchy, by all means, go for it!

How long will white chocolate peanut butter bark last?

It'll keep well for up to 3 weeks. Make sure to store it in an airtight container in the fridge to keep it tasting fresh.

    Can I freeze it?

Yes! You can either freeze the whole slab by wrapping it tightly in clingfilm or you can freeze shards in an airtight container. To stop pieces from sticking together in the freezer, you can either pre-freeze them on a baking sheet or you can separate them with small pieces of baking paper.
