Ingredients
Here's everything you'll need to make these tasty strawberry shortcake Oreo balls!
- Golden Oreos: These make up the base of our truffles. They have more of a neutral flavour than chocolate Oreos, allowing the strawberry flavour (and the pink colour) to shine through properly.
- Strawberry jelly powder: Jelly (jello) powder is my secret ingredient for an intense strawberry flavour and a pretty pink colour. I also used it for my strawberry coconut bars. I did also test this recipe with freeze-dried strawberry powder but I don't recommend it. Even after adding a lot of it, the flavour just wasn't detectable at all when mixed with the other ingredients and the muted colour also made them look more like meatballs than Golden Oreo strawberry truffles!
- Cream cheese: Make sure to use full-fat cream cheese so you don't end up with soggy truffles. I like to use Philadelphia.
- White chocolate: This is for coating the truffles, creating a super sweet shell and gorgeous colour contrast. Any white chocolate will work fine, just use your favourite!
- Cake sprinkles: Just for decoration and an extra pop of colour. You could also use some freeze-dried strawberry pieces for more strawberry flavour.
Equipment Notes
- Food processor or blender: For crushing the Oreos into crumbs. If you don't have either, you can do it the old-fashioned way using a rolling pin and a zip-lock bag- just make sure to crush them finely.
- Mixing bowl: A large one, for making the truffle mixture.
- Microwave-safe bowl: To melt the white chocolate for the coating. Alternatively, you can do it over low heat on the stove in a saucepan.
- Baking tray and baking paper: Or anything that you can place the Oreo balls on to set. I'd recommend a rimmed baking sheet to prevent them from rolling off but if you don't have one, a large plate or even a cutting board will work fine too. Just make sure it fits in your fridge!
- Dipping tools or forks: These are helpful for coating the Oreo balls in chocolate without getting finger marks on them.

How to make Golden Strawberry Oreo balls
Step 1: Line a large tray with baking paper and set it to one side. This is for setting the Oreo balls on later.
Step 2: Using a high-powered blender or food processor, crush 308g (two packs) of Golden Oreos into fine crumbs. Add them to a large bowl and run your fingers through them to make sure there are no large lumps left.
Step 3: Add 23g of strawberry jelly powder to the bowl and mix it into the Oreo crumbs.

Step 4: Next, measure out 150g of full-fat cream cheese and add it to the bowl. Mix everything together then use your hands to press it all into a large ball.

Step 5: Divide the mixture into 15 equal-sized pieces and roll each piece into a ball. Place them onto your lined baking tray and pop them in the fridge for 1 hour to firm up a little.

Step 6: After the hour is up, remove your Oreo balls from the fridge and melt 350g of white chocolate. Dip each ball into the melted white chocolate and place it back onto your lined baking tray.

Step 7: While the chocolate coating is still wet, add your pink/red sprinkles on top. Let them set in the fridge for 1 more hour then enjoy!

Top Tips
- Use a scale to measure out your balls so that they are all evenly sized.
- If your mixture is too sticky, chill it overnight before rolling it into balls, or add more Oreo crumbs.
- Get excess chocolate off the truffles by lightly tapping your dipping tool off the side of the bowl before placing them on your baking tray. This will prevent chocolate from pooling around the bottom.
- Try adding a small amount of pink food colouring to the white chocolate for a cute 'strawberry shortcake' vibe.
