These Easter puff pastry nests are stuffed with Kinder Bueno pieces and hazelnut creme for a super indulgent twist on a traditional treat. They're super easy to make with just a few simple ingredients and they're ideal for baking with kids.

If you know me, you know I love Kinder Bueno. Like, seriously love it! So, when the Easter chocolate started hitting the supermarket shelves, you best believe I had to find a way to combine the two into one delicious dessert! And that’s how these Kinder Bueno puff pastry Easter nests were born.
You start with two puff pastry sheets, fill them with hazelnut creme and Kinder Bueno chunks, then wrap them up into nests and drizzle with Kinder chocolate. Add some Kinder Mini Eggs on top for a cute Easter touch and voila!
These little nests are so easy to make, ridiculously delicious, and guaranteed to impress. Whether you're whipping them up for an Easter get-together or just treating yourself, you need to try these. Just trust me, they are next-level good!
Ingredient Notes
- Ready-rolled puff pastry sheets: This is a handy shortcut to flaky, buttery nests without the hassle of making pastry from scratch or rolling it out evenly. I used Jus Rol sheets but any that are roughly 320g will work.
- Hazelnut creme: This is the star of the show, giving the nests that classic Kinder flavour. I got mine from M&S but if you can't find it, Nutella will work well as a substitute.
- Kinder Bueno bars: Crushing them up means you get little pockets of Bueno throughout the pastry nest and it is just... *divine*. You'll need two full-sized bars for this recipe or 4 sticks.
- Egg: Brushing your puff pastry with egg before baking will give it a lovely golden colour. If you prefer not to use eggs, you can use a little bit of milk or melted butter instead for a similar effect.
- Kinder chocolate bars: I melted some Kinder chocolate to drizzle over the baked pastry nests along with more hazelnut creme. You'll need roughly 60g which is about 5 of the mini bars.
- Kinder Mini Eggs: These transform regular pastry nests into Easter puff pastry nests! They're essentially Kinder chocolate in egg form but they really do bring everything together beautifully!
Equipment
- Baking tray: You'll need quite a large tray for this recipe, or two smaller ones, as the pastries will spread out quite a bit as they bake.
- Baking paper: To prevent sticking.
- Sharp knife or pizza cutter: For cutting the pastry into strips. I personally find using a pizza cutter is a bit easier as there are chunks of Kinder Bueno to cut through too.
- Bowls: You'll need two bowls for melting the hazelnut creme and Kinder chocolate, and another bowl or mug to beat the egg in.
- Utensils: A butter knife or small spatula for spreading the hazelnut creme onto the pastry, a whisk or fork for beating the egg, a couple of spoons for mixing the chocolate/hazelnut creme and a pastry brush to add the egg wash.
- Piping bags: I used two of these for drizzling the chocolate and hazelnut creme onto my nests. If you prefer, you can just use teaspoons instead.
- Cooling rack: This is not totally essential but it's great for preventing soggy-bottomed pastry!

How to make Kinder Easter puff pastry nests
Step 1: Start by lining a large tray with baking paper then preheat your oven to 200°C (180°C for fan ovens).
Step 2: Lay out one sheet of puff pastry onto your work surface.
Step 3: Melt 200g of hazelnut creme in the microwave for 10-20 seconds until runny then spread it over the pastry sheet. Leave a small gap around the edges so it doesn't spill out when you roll it.
Step 4: Crush 4 sticks of Kinder Bueno into chunks then sprinkle over the pastry sheet. Top with a second puff pastry sheet and gently press it down into place.

Step 5: Starting with the short side closest to you, cut the pastry into 8 equal-sized strips. Twist each strip into a spiral then roll it up into a nest. Tuck the end underneath so that it doesn't unravel in the oven.

Step 6: Place your nests onto the baking tray and lightly brush with beaten egg. This will help them become more golden in the oven.

Step 7: Bake for around 15 minutes, or until your nests are golden brown all over. Let them cool slightly then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Step 8: Once the pastries have cooled, drizzle over 60g of melted Kinder chocolate and 3 tablespoons of melted hazelnut creme.

Step 9: Stick 2 or 3 Kinder Mini Eggs onto each pastry then let the chocolate harden before enjoying!
Top Tips
- Unwrap the puff pastry sheets and let them sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes before you start baking. This will help to prevent it from tearing when you unroll them.
- When twisting the pastry strips, don't worry about any imperfections- these will be hidden when you roll them into nests. Make sure to tuck the tail end of the twist underneath the nest, otherwise, it will expand and unroll in the oven.
- To prevent the Kinder Mini Eggs from rolling off, press them gently into the melted chocolate while it's still warm.
FAQs
These are best eaten on the day of baking for ultimate crispiness but they can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
I got mine from M&S but you can also buy it from Amazon. If you're having trouble sourcing it, you can swap it out for a hazelnut chocolate spread such as Nutella which is more widely available.
This recipe typically makes 8 nests. However, you can adjust the thickness of the strips to make smaller or larger ones, depending on your preference.
